13 Killed, 4 Injured In Fatal Autocrash In BauchiLatest News, Nigeria 2015 Election Monday, January 5th, 2015
Audu Limun, Bauchi – Tragedy has occurred in Bauchi state as 13 passengers killed in an auto crash while 4 others injured along Bauchi-Jos road, Narbodo village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
It was gathered that the accident occurred as a result of carelessness on the part of a motorcycle rider who suddenly crossed the road, which resulted in head on collision with other vehicles.
It was further learnt that the accident which occurred around 5pm last Sunday involved Opel Vectra and Toyota Sharon bus.
Police Public Relation Officer of the Bauchi state Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident said:
“On the 4/1/2015 at about 4:40pm, there was a fatal motor vehicles/Motorcycle accident along Sabon Garin Nabordo in Toro LGA of Bauchi State involving a Black Toyota Sharon bus with reg no KTG -282-XG conveying 9 passengers from Jos heading to Bauchi and a White Opel Vectra with reg no TRR- 355-XA Conveying 7 passengers from Bauchi and heading to Jos.
According to him, the accident occurred when the motorcyclist without due care and attention suddenly crossed the highway and the vehicles had a head on collusion while trying to dodge the motorcyclist.
He said “As a result, twelve passengers and the motor cyclist died on the spot while four others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Mohammed said Police patrol team attached to Toro Division has visited the scene and evacuated the victims to Nabordo Clinic for medical attention and postmortem examination.
He said: “Presently, the identities of victims are yet to be ascertained as such members of the public whose relatives embarked on the Journey on same route are advised to visit the clinic for possible identification of their relatives.”
