Olanusi in a statement Thursday stated that while still being in place as the democratically elected Deputy Governor of Ondo State, he has decided to lead his teeming supporters and well-wishers into the State’s APC, which he added justice, fairness, equity and democratic liberty, could be found.

He equally described it as a party which majority of kith and kins of Yoruba land belonged.

Alhaji Olanusi indicated that he took the decision at the critical time, in the best interest of peace, stability and good governance of the state and for the overall development of the South West as well as the country.

He confessed he had been having a running battle with Governor Olusegun Mimiko, since their days in Labour Party, but noted that, both have managed their differences, until today (Thursday) when he dumped the ruling PDP.

Meanwhile, the Ondo state Government has reacted to the development, saying it would not have any significance bearing on fortune of the PDP.

The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, said Olanusi had right to political affiliation of his choice, yet the Government received the news of his decamp with surprise.
