30 Feared Killed In Fresh Community Clash In Plateau


From Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Barely 48 hours after the the Taroh community in Wase LGA in the Southern Senatorial District of Plateau State in which over 500 people were killed by security operatives in a night raid that lasted for hours, no fewer than 30 persons have been confirmed dead in another fresh attack by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdmen in two villages in Barkin Ladi LGA, in the Northern Senatorial Zone of the State.
Chairman of the Council area, Hon. Emmanuel Lomang while confirming the casualty in Jos, the State capital, said the suspected Fulani attackers entered the villages through Jos East LGA neighbouring Barkin Ladi Sunday night and killed 17 people including women in Vat village, while 13 others were also attacked and killed in Zakupang village all in Foron District of the Barkin Ladi area.

Loman who is the State’s Chairman of ALGON, condemned the attack and accused security agencies of not protecting the lives of the citizens of the Council.

He lamented the incessant attacks in the locality and challenged security agencies especially the Special Task Force, to take decisive steps towards arresting the attackers.

Village head of Kapwen in Foron District Da Gwom Ishaku Pam also confirmed the incident, saying the series of the attacks in the locality has caused them sleepless nights.

When contacted, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Emmanuel Abuh, said, there was an attack in the aforementioned arrears, but could not give the casualty level.

Abuh said, “We have deployed our Mobile and Counter Terrorism units to the affected arrears.
