Tribunal Axes Osunbor, Endorses Oshiomhole As Edo Governor
By Oludare Fase
Published: March 20,2008

The Edo state governorship and legislative election tribunal has endorsed Action Congress
candidate Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the governor of Edo state in a judgment that sent
the whole state into massive jubilation.

In the unanimous decision read by Justice Peter Umeadi, the tribunal ruled that Oshiomhole
won the election having had the majority of the valid votes of the governorship election.

He also said that the petitioner substantially proved that the election was marred with multiple
voting, ballot stuffing, and multiple registrations and non- compliant with the electoral act.

Justice Umaedi subsequently nullified the certificate of returns issued to prof. Oserhiemen
Osunbor and ordered INEC to issue a new one to Comrade Oshiomhole.

Speaking at the government house in Benin, Gov. Osunbor said he was heading to the appeal
court to challenge the judgment.

In his comment, the victorious Oshiomhole said that the judgment was for the people of Edo
state as he promised to carry them along in his new administration.
