Singles, Get It Right

The Bible says, In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and God was
the word (John 1:1-2), and in another book of the scripture it was written that he sent
His word and healed them.
With these scriptures, I strongly believe that the word of God about to be shared in this
short message will touch many lives, heal many broken marriages and help a lot of
singles in choosing their life partners.
Genesis 2: 7 narrates the creation of man by God “And the Lord God formed man of the
dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a
living being”
Though Man was surrounded by other creations like animals, birds and the natural nature
in the garden yet he was lonely.
Why was Adam lonely?
One can safely say man was lonely because other creations in the garden were not the
same creature like him. There was no love between him and other animals, of course,
they did not share the same feelings and thought.
Man was lonely simply because there was no companion. God the only perfect being
knew the heart of man. The word of God says the heart of men is full of evil, goes on
to tell us that before we even express our feelings He knows our thought, God knew
Adam needed a woman, a companion.
God gave him what would not only remove his loneliness but equally bring him favor and
joy. He created Eve. Please pay attention to how God created her.
In Genesis 2:21- 22, you will see that God did not go through the same process to
create man and woman, Why? Notice also that God caused man to sleep before he
created woman from his ribs.
I am sure that it was not shortage of dust that prevented God from going through the
same process to create man and woman. It wasn’t also because He wanted to save time
and energy.
Note that the bible did not say anything about God breathing into a woman to give her
life; woman was not only made out of the ribs of a man but equally out of his breath.
Do you think God could not take Adam’s ribs without necessarily causing him to sleep?
Note too that it wasn’t just an ordinary sleep; the bible says a deep sleep, the kind of
sleep that even if the whole Earth was trembling Adam wouldn’t have turned.
Why did God take out Adam’s rib to create a woman for him?
The book of Proverb 31:10 says in part “who can find a virtuous wife” another version
says “who can find a virtuous and capable wife”.
Why did God not create woman the way He created man? And why did he create
woman from man’s bone?
Firstly, He created woman because man was lonely and not because there was no body
to cook or clean the house or make babies.
Secondly, he created woman so that man can have an intimate companion. Note that there
was no place in the bible where it was said that God took the rib of any animal to create
its female.
God created woman out of man so that man could have the right woman as a wife
meaning that a woman that a man marries must be his missing rib.
Proverb 31: 10 and Genesis 2: 24 answer this question. Let take a moment and see how
kids play hide and seek game, one child is blindfolded why others go into hiding, later
the blindfolded kid is expected to seek or look for those that are hiding. The essence of
the game is to make it difficult for the blindfolded kid to know where the rest are hiding.
This game simply illustrate why Adam was made to sleep perhaps so that proverbs 31:10
can be fulfilled and for man to know “She is worthy more than precious rubies” and for
genuine love that is based on trust can exist between them, a love that will bring forth
prosperity (proverbs 31: 11).
Many singles do not know how to get it right. What does a man need to look for when
searching for a wife? He must look for the right rib and the right breath. The rib or the
bone is the physical beauty and character while the breath is her spirituality.
Most men have made a wrong choice may be as a result of failure to recognize their right
bone; Many found a large size, while some have a small size, To some folks, it was a
case of what seemingly fit but not the right size.
Some brothers got the right bone but missed out the right breath so things are not
perfectly working out, peace today, crisis tomorrow.
You have to get the right bone; the wages are happiness, love, peace, blessing, favor etc.
