Adamawa: Ngilari Makes U-Turn On Ribadu As PDP Allots Him Senatorial Ticket As Compensation

From Mustapha Abdul Salaam – Adamawa State Governor, James Bala Ngilari has made a dramatic u-turn on his opposition to the Governorship candidature of the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and pledged to work with him to win next year election.

Ngilari, until Tuesday when Ribadu paid him visit in his office, Yola, the State capital, was among the State’s ruling Peoples Democratic party (PDP) top stakeholders who had been protesting against the emergence of the ex anti-graft agency boss, who they alleged was imposed on them, hence, threatened to withdraw their support for him and the party.

The sudden back out deal of Governor Ngilari who, some months ago, was sworn in after the sack of the Acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, was struck at the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) parley, which allocated the State’s Southern Senatorial slot to him (Governor).

The ticket has been previously won by one time President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Barrister Ahmed Gulak.

The National Assembly primary was conducted in Abuja as the incumbent Governor Ngilari was not cooperating and allegedly hostile to the Primary election panel.

With the latest development, Governor Ngilari has promised victory for all the PDP candidates in the State, even as the decision and next line of action of the other stakeholders remain unknown.
