Aftermath of Oduahgate: Jonathan Sacks Head of Aviation Agencies


Just few weeks after Stella Oduah was booted out of office as minister of aviation, President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday sacked head of Nigerian aviation agencies.

A statement issued by ‎the Special Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, announced Engr. Saleh Dumona (Director Projects, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as replacement for Mr. George Uriesi as Managing-Director.

While Capt. Muhktar Usman (Commissioner, Accident Investigation & Prevention Bureau (AIPB) is replace Capt. Fola C. Akinkuotu as Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.

Engr. Benedict Adeyileka has been asked to act as DG, NCAA pending the confirmation by the Senate.

Also Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam (General Manager, Procurements, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA)  is to replace Engr. Nnamdi Udoh as Managing Director.

Capt. Samuel Akinyele Caulcrick (Government Safety Inspector & ICAO Focal Point for Nigeria on line Aircraft Safety Information Systems, OASIS) will take over from Capt. (Mrs.) Chinyere Kalu as Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT).

‎While Dr. Engr. Felix A. Abali (Director Licencing, NCAA is the new Commissioner, Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIPB), replacing is Capt. Muhktar Usman.

African Examiner gathered that the need to sanitize the corruption ridden Aviation sector is believed to be responsible for the sweeping changes in the sector.
