Akpabio, Oshiomhole Charge Security to Win War Against TerrorismLatest News, News Tuesday, July 8th, 2014
Nigerian Political leaders have tasked the security operatives to step up efforts to confront the war against terrorism and restore a peaceful polity.
The task was handed down by Akwa Ibom state Governor, Godswill Akpabio and his Edo state counterpart, Adams Oshiomhole in an interview with newsmen during the Council of State meeting at the Presidential villa Abuja, on Tuesday.
Governor Akpabio expressed joy over the key hints currently being sourced by the security operatives on how to win the battle against the insurgents, but said Nigerians were not interested in the level of rescue operations, but were rather keen about the safety and successful operations that would lead to the freedom over 200 Chibok secondary school girls who are being held hostage in bush over two months in Borno state, North Eastern Nigeria.
On his part, Governor Oshiomhole said Nigerians look forward to the nation’s security network, to stem the raging security lapses, adding that nothing should resist them to achieve this feat.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Shehu Shagari were among the past leaders at the meeting, while the list of other governors included Mrurtala Nyako (Adamawa); Kassim Shettima (Borno), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) among others.
