APC Chieftain In Enugu Mobilizes Igbos For The Opposition Party

Ignatius Okpara, Enugu

A chieftain of All Progressive change APC in Enugu state and National publicity secretary, Conference of Nigeria political parties, CNPP, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, has called on the Igbo nation to embrace the party, insisting that it remains the only political platform Ndigbo could realise their ambition of producing a Nigerian vice or president of Igbo extraction in 2015.

Okechukwu, who spoke Friday at the APC registration centre in Obodo Amankwo Eke, Udi local government area of Enugu state said the time has come for Ndigbo to dump the peoples Democratic party PDP which has failed them and the entire nation and join the alternative party, APC.

He said “I joined the APC, a mass movement for change, because of its progressive ideology anchored on social democracy and welfarism.

“Accordingly, Ndigbo, lets join the progressive train, get elected as either president or vice president in 2015; hence exit from the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP}, a party we invested heavily in, but cannot be elected president or vice president soon.

The CNPP spokesman further stated that, “One deems it a matter of urgent national importance to inform Ndigbo that our contemporaries in the Nigerian project –Huasas and Yorubas – have massively embraced the APC.

“I subscribe most importantly to the 1st Cardinal Program of our great party – War Against Corruption and National Re-Orientation –for it is my considered view that if the pervasive and endemic corruption in our dear country is allowed to fester, Nigeria will slide dangerously into a failed state.   “Ladies and Gentlemen, we assembled here to officially enroll, and confirm our membership of the All Progressives Congress {APC}, a progressive party, registered by Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC} on the 31 July 2013.

Okechukwu therefore, advised the people of Udi council area, Enugu state, and south in general to take the registration exercise very seriously.
