Plot To Disqualify Buhari Shifted To Anambra Federal High Court

Ayodele Afolabi, Abuja – The last may not have been heard about plots to disqualify General Mohammadu Buhari, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress from the poll slated for March 28, 2015 as the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA has again dragged him before a federal High Court, Akwa, Anambra state.

The case which was filled by controversial Senator Alphonsus Igbeke on behalf of himself and APGA is seeking to stop Buhari on the ground that the Affidavit he deposed to at FCT Federal High court about his educational qualification/documents was false.

Ngbeke also wants the court in the suit he filed on Friday, to declare as false the claim made by Buhari in his voters card he submitted alongside INEC form CF001 that he is a public servant as at 22nd January 2011 and ought to be disqualified from contesting the election on that premise.

He wants the court to make an order declaring that Buhari is not constitutionally qualified for the office of the president and therefore should be disqualified.

Parts of the relief he sought is for him to serve Buhari and INEC on the pages of newspapers which has been published in the Vanguard and the Sun Newspapers on Sunday.

He also sought order for urgent hearing and abridgment of the suit by reducing the time for Buhari counsels to enter appearance to 5 days and file reply within 3 days.

All his request were granted by the court. It is feared that the Akwa Federal High Court might declare Buhari is not qualified if the court delivers its ruling before presidential poll.
