Breaking: Early Fire Outbreak Touches Balogun, Makoko Plank MarketsFeatured, Latest News Monday, January 12th, 2015
By Ayo Balogun, Lagos – Series of fire outbreak occurred in different places, Monday morning in the Lagos metropolis, including the popular Balogun market on Lagos Island.
The popular Makoko plank market in Ebute Meta area, in Lagos Mainland was also touched by devastating inferno. Yet, another fire outbreak has occurred behind the Igando General Hospital under Alimosho local Government area of the State.
While Balogun market fire incident has attracted the attention of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA); the State Fire Services; the law enforcement agencies and other rescue workers to protect lives and property and to check break down of law and order, the Igando fire outbreak has created serious gridlock on the Ipaja road axis, extending to Ebgeda, Igando, Alimosho road, Iyana Ipaja and Iyan Dopemu within Alimosho and Ayobo/Ipaja LCDAs.
The causes of the fire are yet to be established, while the causalities in them are not yet ascertained as at the time filling this report.
