Buhari, in Lagos, Gives Ambode Pass mark

 (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – After two months of his re-election, President Muhammadu Buhari has thanked the Lagos residents for their support for his government and his party.

 Buhari expressed the appreciation Wednesday during the commissioning of Oshodi transport interchange, Murtala Mohammed International Airport road and public transportation buses

 

The President who is on one-day working visit commended the outgoing Governor of the State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, affirming that he has performed ‘’satisfactorily’’ also urging others to commend him for his contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State.

 

President Buhari restated that the new Oshodi Transport Interchange; the Mass Transit Medium and High capacity public buses and the reconstructed Murtala Mohammed International Airport Road by Lagos State Government clearly demonstrate the need to continue to provide high impact projects for the development of infrastructure and opportunities for job creation at all levels.

 

While indicating that the new transport interchange with three different terminals was going to change the face of public transportation, he dredited the mass transit buses totaling 820 which he said would move the people of Lagos State in a more comfortable and more efficient manner.

 

Buhari acknowledged that the newly commissioned projects perfectly aligned with the efforts of the Federal Government (FG) to improve the country’s infrastructure especially in the transport sector.

 

Other projects commissioned by Mr President included: Ayinke House at the Institute of Maternal & Child Health and the Lagos Theatre in Oregun.

 

The President was received by Governors Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo); Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shuaibu and the host Governor, Ambode.  

President Buhari has since returned to Abuja.
