Court Nullifies Election Of Akwa Ibom Assembly Speaker

A Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko.

Justice Moshood Oredola Abdulrahman-led three man panel ruled that Aniekan Uko who is representing Ibesikpo Asuntan constituency was not validly elected.

The court held that the election tribunal which sat in Abuja was right in nullifying the election of Uko on the basis of electoral violence and malpractices.
