By Abdul Gaffar Bello

BENUE, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Benue State National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal has upheld the victory of former Senate President David Mark.

Consequently, the Tribunal struck out the petition of his opponent and candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Daniel Onjeh. The Tribunal held that the palintiff’s petition was statute barred

Senator Mark of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his rival Onjeh come from the Benue South Senatorial District.

It would be recalled that a Court of Appeal upturned Mark’s victory last year and ordered for a fresh Senatorial poll. Mark won the rerun, but Onjeh alleged manipulation of the exercise, hence approached the court for redress.
