Delegates To Use INEC Ballot Box For Voting On Contentious Issues

The leadership of the ongoing national conference in Abuja is ready for voting on devolution of power and other national issues.

African examiner correspondent at the national judicial centre, Abuja on Tuesday sight INEC branded ballot boxes.

The Chairman of the conference, Retired Justice Kutigi said the leadership of the conference requested for ballot boxes from INEC to allow delegates vote in case they failed to reach consensus on some issues.

It would be recalled that some northern delegates threatened to walkout from the conference, if the leadership continue to use voice vote as against 70 percent majority approved at the beginning in April.

The conference is expected to conclude their work before July 17. As the conference set to submit their report, many nigerians doubt if the conference will yield positive result or solve the problem facing the country.
