Don’ t Let Ondo Court Case Affect Your Victory In 2015, Concerned Ondo Indigenes In US Warn Jonathan

Some concerned Indigenes of Ondo State in the United States Tuesday advised President Goodluck Jonathan to follow the decision of court that recently sacked the Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State.

A federal High court in Abuja had recently sacked Caretaker Committee led by Dare Adeleke and asked  Ebenezer Alabi- led executive committee to control the leadership of the party pending the determination of the motion of notice.

The court also restrained the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Muazu, the party’s National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladapo, and INEC from supervising and collecting from Adeleke and the PDP any list of candidates for the 2015 election or indeed any election before March 9, next year for the forthcoming elections into the state and National Assembly.

However, the Ondo indigenes under the auspices of ‘Ondo Youth Council’ (OYC) who came from Local Government areas of the state, urged the National leadership of PDP, along President Jonathan to consider the court decision and allowed Alabi-led exco to carry out all activities of the party in the state.

The group’ s President, Mr. Ifedayo Adesida who addressed journalists in Washington, DC, said any attempt by Jonathan to ignore the court decision might jeopardize his re- election victory in Ondo State.

Ifedayo, who is also a legal practitioner said, ” We want to advise Mr. President to follow the court ruling that recognized Alabi -led exco. I am a lawyer and know how it works.

“The opposition party might use the court judgment to nullify Jonathan’ s election victory if Ebenezer Alabi did not recognize the delegates list of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko. Ofcourse, the development might spell doom for PDP in the state.”

The group therefore implored Dr. Mimiko to go back to Labout Party(LP) for the interest of his followers.

“If Mimiko cannot agree with Alabi- led EXCO, there is need to urgently lead his followers back to LP. He was in LP in 2011 and at the same time worked for Jonathan to win the election. So, there is nothing wrong for him not to do the same instead of coming to PDP and trying to cause chaos in the party, he stated.”
