Ebonyi Governor Sacks LGA Chairmen, Announces Cabinet Reshuffles

IGNATIUS OKPARA, ABAKALIKI

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) –  Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Nweze Umahi on Wednesday announced his first cabinet reshuffle, just as he  sacked all the Local Government Areas Caretaker committee Chairmen in the state.

Senator Emmanuel Onwe, the State Commissioner for Information and orientation, in a statement to that effect directed the affected council Chairmen to hand over all government property in their possession before the end of work on Thursday.

The statement reads thus: “The Caretaker Chairmen are directed to hand over to Heads of Personnel Management (HPMs) in their respective local government before the close of business on Thursday September 8, 2013”.

Meanwhile, the Commissioners whose portfolios were changed are, Hon Mrs. Elizabeth Nwogbaga, who was formally in charge of Ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution.

She  was re-assigned to Culture and Tourism Ministry, while Francis Orji, was moved from the Ministry of Water Resources  to Border Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, was moved from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to Water Resources Ministry.

Also affected is Donatus Njoku, of the Solid Minerals who is now to take charge of Economic Empowerment and Job Creation from his counterpart, Sabinus Nwankwegu.
