Edo APC Slams Suspension On Its Vice Chairman Over Anti Party Activities

Edo state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has slammed indefinite suspension on the State Vice Chairman,Mr. Gentleman Amegor over alleged anti-party activities.

The party in a statement signed by over ten of its leaders in the state, namely P.A Ogbomo, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, Hon. Henry Idahagbon, Mr Vincent Uwadiae, Chief Benson Osifo, among others, explained that its decision was reached at a meeting held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

The suspended vice chairman, is also leader of the party in Edo South senatorial district of the state.

Said the statement: “the leaders, lamented the lackluster leadership of the party at the Senatorial District, and observed that the State Vice Chairman and Senatorial leader, Barr. Gentleman Amegor failed woefully in implementing the laudable objectives contained in the party’s constitution.”

Some of the allegations levelled against vice chairman, includes, “failure to convene regular meetings of the district to discuss and resolve issues affecting the development of the party.

“Anti-party activity committed during the last Presidential elections which led to the loss of his unit and consequently his Local Government.”

Meanwhile,the party has set up a five-man disciplinary committee under the chairmanship of Rev. Michael Egharevba, to investigate the allegations. Hon. Uyi Igbe will serve as Secretary of the committee.

However, the state secretary of the Party, Chief Osaro Idah, has been directed to coordinate activities of the party in the district in the meantime.
