Edo Lawmakers Impeach Speaker, Deputy, Elect Ative as New Speaker

EDO, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Edo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mr. Victor Edoror and his Deputy, have been impeached.
They were sacked Tuesday by their colleagues, who accused them of gross misconduct.
However, Hon Elizabeth Ative has been elected the new Speaker.
The development heralded sporadic gunshots within the State House of Assembly complex.
It would be recalled the State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has been at loggerheads with the Speaker with respect to the tenure of the State Local Council helmsmen and the need for election to elect new ones.
