Ekweremadu Wins Enugu West Senatorial District Election

FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Enugu – The Deputy senate President and Speaker, ECOWAS parliament, Ike Ekweremadu, has been declared winner of the Enugu West Senatorial district National Assembly election held on Saturday.

Returning Officer for Enugu West 2015 Senatorial Election, Professor Fab Onah announced the result at Awgu after the collation Sunday night.

Below are the results as announced by the Returning Officer:

Out of 10 candidates that contested Hon Mrs Louisa Achieze of APC got 2,314; Ike Ekweremadu of PDP scored 120,075 (Winner). AD scored 186, APGA 425, UDP 57 and UPP 15.

For the Awgu/Aninri/Oji River Federal House of Representatives seat, Hon. Toby Okechukwu of the PDP was also declared winner having polled 65,929 to beat his closest rival Nwangbowa Ikechukwu of APC who got 1,357.

With the victory, Ekweremadu will be going to the upper chamber of the National Assembly, (NASS) for a 4th term.
