Investigation by AFRICAN EXAMINER Correspondent who was in a Owerri, Thursday, revealed that most of the Commissioners and members of the state House of Assembly, are now operating from their various communities for fear of the unknown.
The militant group had during the week threatened to attack the state over the continued police detention of members of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and sister group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Our Correspondent also gathered that following the threat, Governor Okorocha, who now operates regularly from his country home, Ogboko, in Ideato South council Area of the state, has beefed up his security details.
Heavy security presence, especially soldiers, were equally observed around the Government House axis at the Weatheral road round about.
A government official who preferred anonymity, told AFRICAN EXAMINER that since after the attack notice was published in most Nigeria newspapers, all government officials including the Governor have gripped by fear.
He said the development, is now seriously affecting most of the State Ministries, as only Permanent secretaries now summon the courage to come to their duty post.
