Court Orders Arrest of Fani-Kayode's aide Oluchi Anasoh

An Abuja Chief Magistrate court has ordered the police to arrest a former aide to
the erstwhile minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode over alleged fraud.

The trial Chief Magistrate David Ochimana declared Anasoh wanted “for
obtaining the sum 0f USD 65,000 under false pretence” from one business man
Ifeanyi Okorie.

This declaration was contained in a warrant of arrest signed by the trial Chief
Magistrate and dated 20th March, 2009.

The warrant empowered the police to apprehend ‘one Miss Chioma oluchi Anasoh
of 5 Frederick Chiluba Street, Asokoro, Abuja’ whenever is sighted and bring her to
the court to face charges.

Chioma Anasoh who was a former personal assistant (PA) to Fani-Kayode as
aviation minister during Obasanjo’s administration was accused of ‘falsely obtained
$65,000 from sometime in February, 2007 to execute some contracts she got
from the Ministry of Aviation using proxy companies without the knowledge of her
boss with a vow to repay the same within three months with an additional 30%
interest.’

The alleged offence is punishable under Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code
Law of Federation of Nigeria and carries a jail term and/or with options of fine.
