Governor Ugwuanyi Submits 24 Names To Enugu Assembly  As Commissioner Nominees


By IGNATIUS OKPARA, Enugu – At last, Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has submitted a list of twenty four commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

The list, which was made public on Thursday by the state House of Assembly, indicated that a two time governorship candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples party, ANPP in the state and one time Nigerian,  Ambassador to Angola, Fidel Ayogu, as well as immediate past member of the Federal House of representatives, for Nkanu East and West Federal Constituency made the list.

Others nominated for the commissioner ship position, are former chairman of peoples Democratic party PDP in the state, and Director- General of Ugwuanyi campaign organisation during the last general polls, Barr. Charles Egumgbe.

Also in the list are former House of Reps member for Isi-Uzo and Enugu East Federal Constituency, Hon. Chijoke Edoga; Engr. Patrick Ezebuiro Ikpenwa; Dr. Udeuhele Godwin Ikpechukwu; Mabeke Obinna among others.

Leader of the House, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu had during the House plenary on Thursday, urged his colleagues to accept the list of the nominees for consideration.

He said “I rise to move that the message for 24 nominees be accepted for consideration on a later date,”

Speaker of the House, Hon. Edward Ubosi, had called on  the commissioners nominee to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae CVs for screening.

Ubosi said that the curriculum should be submitted on or before July 13, 2015 for the screening on July 14, 2015.
