General Aliyu Gusau More Suited As NSA
Going by his pedigree, apart from being disloyal to the acting President Goodluck Jonathan
and exhibiting of inefficiency, the out-gone National Security Adviser, Major-General Sarkin
Muktar (retired) may not have possessed the required antecedents for the appointment
given to him by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. That is why we had all manner of
security lapses across the country during his tenure.
National Security Adviser required someone with the pedigree of the second-time-comer
Lieutenant General Aliyu Gusau (retired); therefore Jonathan did well to reappoint him. I am
not saying that Gusau is the only one that may have suited for the job, but for known
antecedents and a tested hand, he is. The touted General Aziza (retired) who hails from the
same region as the acting President Goodluck Jonathan has no equal credentials that would
match Gusau’s; this is a clear fact. One has to appreciate the acting President for not
allowing sentiments, nepotism and sectionalism to becloud his choice in this appointment.
To Gusau, I say please know that God is the Almighty. Always ask Him to direct you on how
best you would excel in this jobs now present and throughout your tenure in order to make
Nigeria better secured than you met it. There are some State Chief Executives that your
intelligence report would prove that if they become re-elected those States would be worse
off, security-wise; we need not inform you as they abound. You are back to a familiar turf
and please do your work adequately, properly and God Almighty would keep and continue
to bless you.
