Jonathan Is Fair To North East -Wakil


Minister of State of State for Power, on Mohammed Wakil  has lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for his concerted efforts in reversing years of neglect of the region in the Nigerian project.

In a goodwill message at the North East zonal rally, the minister listed several federal interventions in the region which he said spanned various sectors such as education, health, power, transport among others, urging continuous massive support of the zone for the president.

“On behalf of Borno people,we appreciate ongoing efforts to connect major towns in the region to national grid . We note the several hydro dams, the new universities, the new rail programme among others. These are truly transforming our region and making us feel truly Nigerian.

“Under difficult circumstances, Mr president is giving our region a sense of belonging it never had since independence .He has not abandoned infrastructural development of our zone despite the security situation. As the President and the PDP has not neglected this zone, our people shall continue to vote PDP”, the minister said.

He particularly lauded the federal government on its efforts to bring peace to the North East, conceding that “our people are in pain and we appreciate the efforts of political and security leadership to restore peace in our state

” We plead with the insurgents to lay down their arms and enter into negotiation with the Federal Government .We also called on all stakeholders to support the political and security leadership as efforts are intensified to bring peace to our region”, the minister said.
