In retaliation to the multiple bombings that left about 35 dead and several
wounded, youths in Jos have taken to the street to protest the christmas eve
explosion.

The protest was said to have claimed the lives of about 4 people while several
houses and properties were razed by the angry youths.

The protest took place in Rikkos, Dutse-Uku, Abattoir, Tina Junction and
Gada-Biu as the youths were accusing governemnt of complicity in the incessant
killings and violence that have continued to engulf the state.

Reports say efforts of a combined security team of soldiers and police
prevented the protest, from escalating as they quickly moved in to save the
situation.

The terrible security situation also prevented vice president Namadi Sambo from
flying to Jos to assess the situation. His Aide said the vice president would make
the trip later this week.

President Jonathan on his own part, has warned that those behind the attack,
saying the perpetrators will be fished and dealt with.

People are crying of poverty as many are living in poor condition, yet some
choose to do evil by destroying properties and lives in the name of religion.
Though they will soon face God's terrible judgment, but before then,
government should deal seriously with the perpetrators. It is a shame to this
great nation and government.
