A middle age Chinese woman and her Nigerian husband, identified as Mr. Christian Kalu, including an aide to erstwhile Deputy Governor of Abia state, Chief Acho Nwakanma, Mr. Achilefu were on Monday, whisked away to unknown destination by gunmen at different locations in Aba commercial city, in Abia State.
Our correspondent gathered that the foreigner, simply identified as Tang, and her husband, who hail from Amaekpu Item in Bende local government area of Abia state, were returning to their home around 9:30pm, when a Toyota Highlander SUV with registration number KTU 548 AU ash in colour cordoned them off at 7up junction by Umuelede road and ordered them out of the car.
Achilefu, who is said to be the manager to the ex-Abia Deputy Governor’s agricultural farm, was abducted by the gunmen in the evening of same Monday at about 8:30pm at Umudukwu Village along Aba—–Ikot Ekpene highway.
Though, detailed information about the two ugly incidences were still sketchy as at the time of filling this report, but African Examiner learnt that the kidnappers were yet to establish contacts with families of the victims even as the incidents had been reported at the Eastern Ngwa Division Police Station and Ohuru Isimiri Police station, respectively.
However, when the police public Relations officer PPRO for Abia state command, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, was contacted for his comment he said he was not aware of the incidences, but two senior police officers attached to the command who do not want their names in print, confirmed the unfortunate development to our correspondent
