By Ignatius Okpara, Enugu – The Secretary General of a faction of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Joe Nwaorgu, has called on his Igbos kinsmen to remain calm, despite their snub by President Muhammad Buhari led administration.
The South Easterners have been complaining bitterly over failure of President Buhari to make appointment from the since he assumed office over three months ago.
Speaking with newsmen in Enugu, Monday, on Buhari’s key appointment, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Nwaorgu stated appeal to Ndigbo to remain calm had become necessary due to numerous telephone calls from aggrieved Ndigbo who have all been complaining on the Situation.
According to him, some Ndigbo who have called on the issue had queried “whether Ndigbo are still regarded as part of Nigeria.”
The Ohanaeze factional Scribe urged Ndigbo not to over react either by word or otherwise to exclusion.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo urges Ndigbo to continue to be nation builders anywhere they are and not to be downcast by what has happened.
“Ohanaeze strongly believes that a President of Nigeria is the President for all Nigerians and that equity and fair-play for all Nigerians will be respected,”.
