Appeal court validates Akala’s
election
In a judgement that merely rubber stamp the
ruling of the Oyo state election tribunal, the appeal
court has ruled that Mr Alao Akala is the winner of
the Oyo sate governorship election.
The presiding justice, Justice Victor Omage said
the appellant Mr Ajimobi failed to prove his case
beyond reasonable doubt, adding that his claims
were not sufficient, and the court therefore
dismissed the case. /end

I was born a Nigerian, and then arrived in the United
States of America and decided to become an
American. I have written Nigeria off as a nation not
worth fighting for, dying to salvage, unworthy of one’s
investment, time, efforts and resources.
To me, Nigeria is a failing state, perennially prostrate
and incapable of re-inventing itself. It is a house that
has completely fallen except divine intervention put
the kibosh on its eventual disintegration. This is what
