Mark mourns former Deputy Senate President


President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has lamented over the death of Second Republic Deputy President of the Senate, Senator John Wash Pam.

Reacting to the news of the demise of the elder statesman, Senator Mark described Wash Pam as a democrat per excellence and one of the pillars of today’s democracy in the country.

With his death yesterday, he regretted that Nigeria has lost one her unrepentant democrats who was in the fore front of our return to civil rule.

Senator Mark noted the exploits of late Wash Pam especially in the first, second and third republics  saying that ” he died when his wealth of experience was needed to navigate through the nation’s murky political water.

“His death at this time of our nation’s political history is a big blow. He was a great parliamentarian who contributed positively to the political evolution of Nigeria. We shall miss him”.

He was however consoled that late Wash Pam contributed positively to the economic and socio- political development of Nigeria during his life time.

Senator Mark urged the government and people of plateau state to immortalize the foremost legislator and politician who stood to be counted when it mattered.
