The search for missing AirAsia plane (Airbus A320-200), has been suspended till Monday.
The aircraft, which had 162 passengers on board got disappeared owing to bad weather Sunday. Search which stopped 5.30pm on Sunday according to an Indonesian Transport Ministry official Hadi Mustofa, was expected to continue early Monday, around 7.00 am or earlier, depending on the State of weather.
The airbus went missing after air traffic controllers lost contact with it, about an hour after take off, at Juanda international airport at Surabaya in East Java at 5:20am on Sunday (2220 GMT Saturday).
Earlier before the disappearance, aircraft pilots had asked permission from Jakarta air traffic control to change course and climb above bad weather in an area known for bad thunderstorms.
The manifest of the passengers aboard the ill –fated aircraft indicated has 157 Indonesian, the highest, while South Korea had three, with Singapore and Malaysia had one passenger each on board Flight QZ8501.
