“Only Corrupt Lawmakers Will Be Afraid Of Buhari”Featured, Latest News, Nigeria 2015 Election, Uncategorized Saturday, February 28th, 2015
Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Land, Housing and Urban Development says only corrupt Nigerian lawmakers will be afraid of the emergence of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Major General Muhammad Buhari, as the next President of the nation.
According to him, there is no reason for anyone to exercise fear, if every Nigerian is committed to tackling the problem of corruption in the system.
The lawmaker was responding to the call by the Adamawa State Senatorial candidate, Senator Silas Zwigina to his people to stop Buhari from winning the March 28 presidential poll over Buhari’s stance on corruption in the country.
Reacting to this development at the commissioning of block of Science Laboratories at the Isheri Grammar School, Ashafa said no Nigerians should be worried if Buhari wins the March 28, 2015 election, saying that the implication of the Buhari being sworn in as the successor of President Goodluck Jonathan is that Nigerians are ready to block the loophole in the budgetary process and other revenue producing entities.
“Those hell bent and castigating Buhari are corrupt individuals in the country, who are not ready to repent, even after Buhari becomes the president. I wonder why some Nigerians detest positive change for selfish reason.
“We know why some people are afraid if the elections hold, they know if elections are held today, General Muhammad Buhari would emerge the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I don’t have any doubt that if General Buhari becomes the President, corruption will be a thing of the past in our system.
“The security issue will also be aggressively tackled. Before two to three years, Nigerians will see the difference. I urge Nigerians who are doubtful to take the risk of voting General Muhammad Buhari as the next president rather than take the risk of witnessing what they have been witnessing in the last 16 years of total failure of the PDP,” he stated.
The lawmaker expressed hope that Nigeria would be restore to its lost glory, saying that the economy would be revived once the nation a purposeful leadership who is focused and sincere to tackle numerous challenges confronting the nation.
APC House of Representative candidate under Kosofe Federal Constituency, Rotimi Agunsoye said lawmakers would also sit up if Buhari wins, saying what Nigeria needed is a focus and incorruptible presidents.
According to him, the only way to tackle corruption is to have Buhari and Osinbajo on board, arguing that with the combination of the two, ”we will have everything in place, the fear of the two of them is the beginning of wisdom for the corrupt lawmakers and everybody.”
