Oyinlola’s human rights abuses deteriorate in Osun
Femi Soneye/USA March 15, 2009

The Osun State government has no tolerant for the opposing views in a renewed
crackdown on opposition in the state. The latest victim of this heinous crime is a
journalist, Gbenga Fayemiwo.

Mr Fayemiwo is the chief media officer of the Action Congress (AC) party and a vocal
critic of the Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s government.

He was secretly picked up by Oyinlola’s mercenary  in a military like fashion and
detained for about a month under terrible condition for phantom coup.

According to opposition  Oyinlola's  administration, the longest since the creation of
the state,  has the worst form of bigotry and corruption.

The governor is said to be allegedly a member of the million dollar club with a
membership fee of $1 million dollar, while Osun indigenes live in abject poverty.

It was also revealed that the Governor allegedly collected 100 million naira from each of
the 30 Local Governments in the State to build a 30 km road.

Reports have it that, it is now becoming a trend for journalists to be harassed and
arrested by security agencies, accusing them of subversion, divulging state secrets,
and acting against national interests.
