The Lagos Railway Command of the Nigeria Police Force said it had arrested the master-mind of Tuesday’s attack on a railway at Itoki station, an outskirt of Ogun State.

Some aggrieved persons have attacked the station, in protest against hike in the fares of Mass Transit Train Services.

News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) reported that during the attack, the station was burnt and some wagons vandalized. In addition, tickets, money, phones and other valuables were also stolen by the hoodlums.

The Commissioner of Police in the Command, Nyats Jatau, disclosed that the Command arrested the kingpin of the mob on Thursday after surveillance. Jatau informed that police were still hunting for others in connection to  the attack.

He stated no fewer than 40 persons in connection to the attack have been charged to the Ebute Metta Magistrates’ Court, while those erroneously arrested have since been released.
