FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Enugu-The police in Enugu has arrested a pregnant woman identified as Mrs. mercy chintua, for pouring hot water on her co-male tenant, Emmanuel Anyebe, whom she alleged was trying to pip at her while she was taking her bath.
Mrs. chintua who resides with her husband at Akwuke Awkunanaw, in Enugu South council Area of Enugu state, according to the police “had allegedly on 23/2/15 poured hot water on the victim as he was about to take his bath.”
During interrogation, the suspect, disclosed that it all started when the victim tried to spy her in the bathroom as she was about taking her bath on that fateful day.”
Mrs. chintua, said her action, which she is now regretting was taking because the victim allegedly saw her nakedness.
The state police public Relations officer,PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, who made this known to African Examiner on Monday, said “the suspect, told the police that she in now regretting her actions.
“She used an already boiled hot water on the victim, which left him unconscious and was later rushed to a nearby hospital.”
The victim on his part, said he does not have any acrimony with either the woman or the husband before now and that it all happened when he was about going to the bathroom to take his own bath and was allegedly prevented by the woman.
He said as he was about entering the public bathroom, the woman quickly rushed in and started taking her bath, adding that as soon as he sensed that the woman was looking for trouble, he left the place and went to the husband to complain to him about the wives conduct.
“After the complaint to the husband, I went back to the bathroom, only to be visited with a severe hot water which was poured on me.”
Meanwhile, Amarizu, said the suspect is now helping the police in their further investigations, adding that “she has declared that it was devil that pushed her into committing the inhuman act.
