The Federal House of Representatives has promised to support executive arm of government on the fight terrorism against in Nigeria.
The Chairman, House Committee on Media, Zakari Mohammed stated this is a media chat ahead of September 16 resumption date for new legislative session of lawmakers.
Mohammed said the House of Representatives have been working with security forces, federal government and other stakeholders to curb Boko Haram Insurgency activities in the country.
“The Federal House of Representatives as part of our oversight functions have been relating with the military forces to know their challenges, in order to make them more effective.
“We are ready to support Federal government in the war against terrorism. Every Nigerians must turn to fighters because its our collective responsible to fight terrorists. I am not saying we should all carry arms to fight Boko Haram but we must be ready to share information.” He added
The APC lawmaker from Kwara state however noted that it will be difficult wipe out terrorists completely, adding the country can only curb activities of the terrorist group.
