Tambuwal: Court Bars PDP From Reconvening House

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Caucus in the House of Representatives on Monday obtained an injunction from and an Abuja Federal High Court stopping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus from reconvening the House until December 3.
The African Examiner had earlier in the day reported that the APC House Caucus was heading to the court to get injunction against the PDP caucus.
The PDP caucus had already been directed by the party’s leadership to reconvene the House on Tuesday. With this development it is not known whether PDP would shelf its earlier plan to reconvene tomorrow (Tuesday).
The opposition APC and many legal Practitioners have criticized the reconvene effort as well as the withdrawal of the Speaker’s security details last Friday, which is largely speculated to be at the instance of President Jonathan and top PDP members.
