Virginia Police Confirm Death Of TV Journalists’ KillerLatest News, World News Thursday, August 27th, 2015
Police authority in the State of Virginia, US has confirmed that the attacker who killed Wednesday, two journalists on live TV has killed himself.
The killer, Vester Lee Flanagan, aged 41, was an ex-employee of WDBJ7 TV and popular known as Bryce Williams, committed the suicide when his car was surrounded by Police who were trailing him.
The victims – staffers of WDBJ7 TV Alison Parker, a reporter and a cameraman, Adam Ward were killed seven hours earlier, during an interview in the town of Moneta.
Earlier and after the bloody attack, Flanagan uploaded a video of himself opening fire at close range.
The Police in Virginia confirmed that the suspect’s vehicle was spotted on the interstate 66 highway, following the shooting and crashed off the road after being pursued by officers.
A statement indicated “Troopers approached the vehicle and found the male driver was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound”. He was said to have died in the hospital.
Flanagan’s twitter account suggested that he had previous misunderstanding with his late targets – Ward, 27, and Ms Parker, 24.
In the meantime, the White House has urged the US Congress to quickly pass gun control laws, due to rampant shooting in the country.
