Voters Turnout Enmass For Accreditation In Osun Guber Poll


The people of Osun State troop out this morning to vote for the candidate of their choice in today’s gubernatorial election. Twenty parties fielded candidates for the election.

Electorates came out as early as 6:00am to be accredited. At Ajewole Housing Estate polling Unit in Olorunda local government, where our correspondent visited at 7:45 am, electorates are been accredited.

One Mrs Afusatu Ademola said she came as early as 6:am to the polling unit to be accredited. Mr Azeez Saidi, the party agent of All progressive congress (APC) told African Examiner that there were no intimidation from any security agencies.

Princess Akorede Rotimi, the party agent of PDP also affirmed that everything is in order. Likewise oluwakemiSulaimon of Labour Party and Najeem Azeez of Progressive People Alliance (PPA).

However, there is no enough gum to paste electoral register at the polling unit.

The Assistant Presiding Officer, Ronke Aminu told our correspondent that they did not have enough gum to paste more than 1,000 names on the register.

Also, at the polling unit beside Oloyede Motors, people troop out enmass to cast their vote. When our correspondent visited the polling unit, voters are being accredited.

Osun State has a total of 1,407,222 registered voters.  INEC had earlier revealed that out of the total registered voters’ 745,828 representing 53 per cent were females while 661,394 about 47 per cent of the voters were  males.
