30 Killed, Several Wounded In Pakistan’s Terrorists’ Attack


BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – No fewer than 30 people have been killed, while over 70 wounded, including women and children, in an explosion which hit Sufi Muslim shrine in Balochistan, Pakistan.

Worshippers at the Shah Noorani shrine were performing dhamal – a trance-like dance – when the eruption occurred Saturday.

Sufism, has large followers in Pakistan but it is face with stiff opposition by extremists. Many devotees are believed to come from the neighbouring Iran, thronged the popular shrine for worshipping.

Those critically injured have been transported to hospitals in Karachi 100km (62miles) away, according to local officials.

Also, emergency services are struggling to reach the site in remote Kuzdar.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack and called for speedy rescue efforts.

Similarly, former cricketer and head of the Tehreek-e-Insaf party, Imran Khan, has also condemned the deadly explosion which he said was targeted at the “core’’ society.
