Aviation Fuel Shortage Disrupts Flight

Nigerians traveling by air within and outside the country are currently having nasty experience as the airline operators are battling with shortage supply of Jet – A1 – aircraft fuel.

The development which started Monday lingered till Thursday. African Examiner Correspondent in Abuja observed that the development caused instability in the flight schedules, congestion in the departure hall of the airport as well as worry among the passengers who waited endlessly without hope of making their journey.

African Examiner source in the Abuja airport revealed that the disruption in the flight schedule might not be unconnected with recent fluctuation in the price – between N160 and N200 per litre of aviation fuel and this is despite the claim of making special order by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to ensure adequate supply of the product.

The development resulted to many passengers expressing disappointment, while the airline and airport staff were engaged in appealing to them and at the same time working on alternative arrangement, majorly reschedule of flight.
