Boko Haram Captures, Takes Over Chibok Town

Chibok in Borno State, North Eastern Nigeria, is in the news again as the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists have allegedly taken it over in the renewed insurgency in the town.

ARICAN EXAMINER Correspondent reported that the town which also constitutes a local government area in the State was said to have been invaded, raided and taken over later on Thursday. Figure of casualties is yet to be confirmed.

Ironically, vigilante groups claimed Thursday that the insurgents have been chased out of Mubi town in Adamawa State, which has been under their control for about two weeks ago.

Chibok is one of the North Eastern towns that fell to Boko Haram five years old deadly attacks, as over 200 of its secondary school (girls) were abducted for almost six months ago and still being held hostage in Sambisa forest in the council area.
