Court Sacks Abia State Governor Over False Information

ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sacked Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for making available false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In his ruling, Justice Okong Abang Monday ordered the Governor who was elected May 2015 under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to vacate his office immediately.

Consequently, Justice Okong ordered INEC to immediately issue certificate of return to the plaintiff in the suit, Uche Ogah, who scored highest number votes during December 2014 PDP Governorship primary.
