By Abdul Gaffar Bello, Lokoja

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The running mate to late Abubakar Audu of the ruling APC, Hon James Abiodun Faleke has picked the former Kogi State Governor’s son, Muhammad as his running mate.

Faleke made the announcement Monday morning in Ogonicha, Ofu Local Council area, residence of late Audu amidst the party’s supporters and members.

The running mate to the late grassroot politician after the declaration, indicated that he would after, proceed to the ruling APC National headquarters in Abuja, to present his resolution to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), which is having a decisive meeting on the issue of substitution today – Monday.

Mohammad in his response told the gathering that he accepted Hon. Faleke’s declaration.

The APC has today to finalize on substituting the party’s late flag bearer.

Prince Audu died last week Sunday, hours before the INEC Kogi State Governorship Election Returning Officer, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha declared the poll inconclusive, a development which has since prompted controversies within the party, the opposition and among the legal luminaries.

Whether Faleke’s choice will stand or not is a matter of time as the APC is said to be rooting for late Audu first runners-up in the primary that produced him (Audu), Yahaya Bello.
