The Supreme Court Wednesday upheld the election of Nyesom Wike as the Governor of Rivers State
The apex court in a unanimous ruling by a five-man panel however held it would adduce reasons for its judgment, Friday, February 12, 2016.
It would be recalled both the State Election Petitions Tribunal and Court of Appeal have upturned Wike’s victory in their rulings last year, adducing inconsistencies in the submission of the Governor’s witnesses; over voting; violence among other factors.
Consequently, Wike appealed the ruling of the Lower Court at the Appeal Court as well as that of the Appeal in the apex court.
