Half Nude Women Protest Against Oshiomhole’s Outburst On Igbinedion

Angered by recent media attack on the Esama of Benin kingdom and opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion by the Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, women from parts of the state on Tuesday staged a protest against the outburst.

The protesters, made up of young and old women under the auspices of Concerned Edo Women, took to the streets of Benin, the Edo state capital, half nude.

The women, dressed in red attires, had expressed dismay over what they described as “disrespectful utterances by Oshiomhole, on the Benin High chief and father of ex- Governor of the state, Chief Lucky Igbinedion.

According to them, the alleged insults melted to the Benin Chief was uncalled for, complaining that the insultive language used by the State Governor was worrisome and offended the Benin nation.

Some of the half nude women had during the protest exposed some sensitive parts of their bodies, just as they displayed various placards with inscriptions such as ”Oshiomhole, you are always insulting your elders”; ” Go and Beg for Forgiveness”, or “Nemesis will catch up with You” among others.

The peaceful protest took the women to areas like the King square and other major streets in the state capital.

“We are women and as mothers, sisters and aunts to Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, we say no to any form of disrespectful behavior to the person of Chief Igbinedion.

“We as mothers cannot see evil in the land and support it, we are against the action of the Governor particularly on Chief Igbinedion and his Household.

“We want the Governor to apologize to the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Igbinedion, all we are asking the governor is to stop insulting elders from Benin Kingdom, so that we do not completely go naked and place curses on him. “ they protested in the native dialect.
