Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has called on Churches to pray for President Goodluck Jonathan, saying he is perhaps the most attacked and criticized president in county.
Jang made the call on Sunday in Jos at the retirement service for Rev. Soja Bewarang, outgoing President of the Church -of Christ in Nations, and induction of the President elect, Rev. Dachollom Datiri.
He said “He is one of the highly, if not the most highly educated President we’ve ever had, a doctorate Phd holder” lamenting that it’s unfortunate that Nigerians are trying to rubbish him.
He continued “I have not been any particularly a wonderful governor; it is the prayer of the Church. If the Church has not been praying, I would have gone anyhow.
“I still ask the Church to continue praying and pray with me that God almighty, as I’m a product of God’s annointing to this seat, let God anoint one of his own children, it may be he or she, I don’t know, but we need prayers for God to anoint the next governor of Plateau State.
“Let it not come by accident. We’ve seen elsewhere may be even here in Plateau, people just work unto the seat.
“But we need God to start anointing leaders for us in this country, so that they will run this nation with the fear of the Lord.”
