President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered that military troops be deployed to Nasarawa state to help police put an end to the lingering crisis in the state.

The Director, Army Public Relations Department, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attahiru made this known at a news briefing in Abuja saying the troops, will join the police to stem the tide of violence in the state.

It would be recalled that tension heightened again in the state with a clash between Ombatse militia and Alago youths in Obi local government area of the state, following the killing of an Eggon man by the Alago group, which led to reprisal attacks on Friday 13th September, with hundreds of houses set ablaze.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Attahiru said the newly created 7 division of Nigerian Army headquarter in Maiduguri northeast has continued to carry out high tempo counter terrorist operations in the area as part of effort to dislocate and disrupt the activities of insurgents.
