Man Docked For Rape And Assault on New Year Day

25-year-old Waliu Saheed was on Thursday arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate sitting in ikeja for offences bothering on attempted rape and assault.
Waliu was said to have committed the offence on the 1st of January, 2014, at Arowonle junction, Dopemu, Agege, Lagos and also unlawfully assault one Lateef Sanni by using broken bottle to inflict injury on his back, thereby causing him bodily harm.
Prosecutor Samson Ekikere said the offences is contrary to and punishable under section 404 and 171 of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2011.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charge preferred against him. Magistrate Oshodi Makanju granted him bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties. The matter is adjourned to 16th January 2014.
