Militancy: Osinbajo Meets Behind Closed Door With Service Chiefs; Top Officials

ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari left the country for London to seek medical attention and observe holiday, his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has met behind the closed doors with the Security Chiefs and some top Government officials.

The Tuesday meeting which commenced around 2pm, held inside the Conference Hall of the VP’s office at the Presidential Villa, FCT Abuja.

Others in attendance were some South East and South South Governors, including: Abia; Bayelsa; Edo; Delta; Ondo and Rivers States.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu and his Niger Delta Affairs counterpart, Pastor Usani Uguru, were also part of the crucial meeting.

The agenda of the meeting was made public, but it might be at the instance of persistent devastating onslaughts by the new militants, striking under the name: The Niger Delta Avengers.
